Welcome to Columbia Heights Public Schools Early Childhood programs.

We invite you and your children to learn and grow with our Early Childhood programs! We recognize the first five years are an important time of exploration, adaptation, and development. We provide engaging activities, classes and programs in developmentally appropriate environments at various locations in the District and in the community. Our experienced and licensed early childhood educators provide safety and security, along with differentiated instruction to meet your child’s individual learning level in both our ECFE and PreK programs!

Following Minnesota’s Early Learning Standards, our curriculum and assessment are aligned from Birth to Grade 3. We utilize The Creative Curriculum in our Early Childhood programs, along with GOLD assessment for our 3-5-year-olds. For our parents/guardians, we utilize the Parent Education Core Curricular Framework in our ECFE classes.

Our PreK 3 and PreK 4 programs, along with our Mini Adventures Child Care are Four Star Parent Aware rated to ensure your child is provided the highest level of education and care. Our half-day to all-day programs provide families with options of blending PreK and child care.

Join our Early Childhood Advisory Council! Our council is comprised of parents/guardians involved in our Early Childhood programs. Benefits include: providing input and feedback, creating new friendships, support from other members, developing leadership skills, one FREE Early Childhood Drop-In Pass, and having FUN! Meetings are monthly to provide input and feedback about programming and community needs, plan events, and raise funding for classroom materials. For more information, or to join, call 763-528-4518.
