This Four-Star Parent Aware program prepares children for lifelong success!

PreK 3 curriculum is aligned with the PreK 4 and Minnesota Early Learning Standards. Classes are taught by licensed, early childhood education teachers and administered by Columbia Heights Public Schools Community Education. Our classes provide inclusion opportunities for children with special needs and support is provided through Early Childhood Special Education.

Our PreK 3 program provides children opportunities to learn about the world around them through hands-on exploration.

A mix of child-directed and teacher-directed activities, including: choice time to explore materials in the room, small group activities, outdoor time, and large group activities with stories, songs, and movement.

The Creative Curriculum and GOLD assessment are utilized in PreK 3.

The Creative Curriculum promotes the development of social-emotional, cognitive, mathematics, language, literacy, fine/gross motor skills, and more. The GOLD assessment tool is an authentic and comprehensive tool aligned with state and national standards and is tailored to monitor the growth of all learners.

Families play an important role in their child's preschool experience. The home-to-school connection is vital and two-way communication is a priority of our licensed educators. Teachers and families connect via phone, Seesaw, email, meetings/conferences, and during drop off/pick up. Families are provided with information about their child's development and ways to support their child's learning at home.

Early Childhood Screening is required for all PreK 3 students.

Transportation is not available for 3-year-old programming.

Monthly tuition is based on a sliding fee scale. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
